What you need to know.

OUR MISSION:
Maintain a challenging learning to learn community that responds to the interests, needs and talents of our learners.

OUR VISION:
Positive Difference, Creative Learner, Effective Communicator.

Hello to all our Whanau

All messages to you will be posted on our Hub Blog, please note the changed URL.
Please follow this blog by adding your email to the slot “Follow by email” to ensure you receive our information.

A few items to note.

1. Headphones
These are part of our stationery list and it is vital each child has a pair. Ear buds are fine and are a preferred option - it makes storage easier. The headphones should be able to be stored by your child within their storage box at school.

2. Camp Te Wera 14 - 17 March 2017
Notices re camp will be coming out next week.

3. Strengths, Talents, Interests and Needs Interviews STIN.
Please come prepared with the important information that you feel is important for us to know about your child to strengthen our relationship with your child and to support their learning this year.

Over the year we welcome you sharing further information with us around achievements, goals, new interest, matters that are important to your child. Emails, photos, you popping in etc are welcomed.

We do have many children we previously had in 2016 in our Learning Hub this year. We will let you decide if you have new information to share and still wish to come to STIN interviews.

4. How we Roll
Later this term we will be having an information evening for our parents to explain the way we work in Kahikatea. This dates will be advertised soon.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you want to know any more information, have any concerns or wish to pop into the Hub to see your child learning in action - we are sure they would love to have you in class to see what they are up to.

Tena koutou katoa

We are looking forward to supporting your Tamariki with their learning this year in our Kahikatea Learning Hub.

Please find attached the first camp notice that was sent home with students last year - we have found a few in the classroom, so our apologies if this did not get to you.

Please, could you ensure Tamariki bring their togs and towel, hat, pen (pencil case if they have this, small please) to school on Wednesday.

We would like to encourage students who are bringing their own devices this year and who have them to bring these to school on Wednesday 01 February. Please don't hesitate to contact us should you wish to know more about BYOD (Bring your own device).

We look forward to meeting with you for the first interviews (STIN Interviews) this year - February Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th. More information on this will come out soon.

Please don't hesitate to email us if you have any queries. We would appreciate it if all emails can come to both teachers.

Hello to our 2017 Parents and Whanau

We are looking forward to 2017 with our students and look forward to meeting those of you we have not yet met.

We have a combined class blog called Kahikatea, this will be our Learning Hub’s name in 2017. This can be found using this link ~  http://frankley1011learninghub2016.blogspot.co.nz/
You can also find this blog on the Frankley School Website, www.frankley.school.nz

All students individual blogs will be attached to this and we ask that you all follow this class blog and your child’s (if not already) by submitting your name in the follow by email slot. Class newsletters, news and updates will be posted here.

We plan to have an information evening for our 10.11 Learner’s whanau early in Term 1 and we will notify you of this date once sorted.

Camp 2017
Our 10.11 Camp will be held at Te Wera from the 15 - 17 March. You can read about the camp site on their webpage.

We imagine the cost for this camp will fall between $120 - $150. We will be requiring parent helpers to stay, approximately ten at this stage. More information on our camp will come out within the first few weeks of Term 1.

Please do feel free to make contact with either one of us if you require any more information at any stage.

Have a merry Christmas and a great holiday, we look forward to working in partnership with you in 2017.
